MLB DFS MAINSLATE BREAKDOWN THURSDAY 6/30/2022
What do we have on schedule for MLB DFS today? Well, honestly not much. Being that it is a Thursday, many MLB teams are off, leaving us with a short and fairly ugly 7-game slate. Nonetheless, we can break it down and see what players are worth consideration for lineups.
Weather - Honestly nothing really to report, it all looks good.
Keep in mind, these articles and any associated videos are published early, so that you have a chance to review and set lineups. Actual lineups likely are not out yet, so please please make sure you check lineups before lock. Also, please ensure you check weather and potential delays.
PITCHERS
-
Logan Gilbert - $9,500 - vs. OAK - 7.5 O/U
- The pitcher leading tonight's slate in raw projected fantasy points is none other than . . . . Logan Gilbert. To be fair, he has had a pretty good season for Seattle, having pitched to a 3.63 xFIP and 25% K-rate so far this season. He is pitching at home tonight, a park known more for favoring pitching and that's good because he has been really excellent at home this season. He also is facing the A's, who simply stink against right handed pitching. They rank 29th in wRC+, wOBA and ISO as offense against right handers. On an ugly small slate, Gilbert stands out as one of the better options for pitcher.

BATTERS
-
Joey Votto - $3,600 - @ CHC - vs. Hendricks (R - CHC)
- He is cheap, has a strong history against Hendricks and the wind is blowing out pretty wild at Wrigley tonight. Joey Votto may not be the hitter he once was, but the guy can still perform in the right situation. I don't subscribe to BvP numbers, but it is hard to ignore when a guy is 15/38 with 9 XBH, 5 HRs and 15 BBs. Numbers are pretty nuts, so I think Votto is worth taking a chance on tonight. Oh and Hendricks this season? Pshhh . . . . only allowing an awful .397 wOBA, 5.07 xFIP and 2.31 HR/9 stat line to left handed bats this season. I may have just talked myself into a full blown Reds stack, but at the minimum, lets go with Votto.

STACKS
-
Toronto Blue Jays - 5.12 Earned Runs - vs. Wisler (R - TB)
- Surpisingly the Blue Jays aren't the top projected scoring offense tonight, you can leave that honor to the Chicago Cubs. I simply don't trust the Cubs, so I'll be looking to stack the always threatening Blue Jays. There aren't many options tonight, but objectively speaking the Blue Jays might be the best overall and most consistent offense available tonight. ALthough they are slated to face Wisler, this is basically a bullpen game for the Rays. Wisler hasn't pitched more than 2 innings all season. Now, the Rays do have one of the better bullpens in the game, but it always is a struggle having to push 7+ innings with those guys, especially against an offense like tonight. So I'll give the advtange to the Blue Jays.
